DESCRIPTION:We reveal a phase transition with decreasing visco
sity in one-dimensional decaying Burgers turbulenc
e with a power-law correlated random profile \nof
Gaussian-distributed initial velocities \\sim|x-x'|^{-2}. The low-viscosity phase e
xhibits non-Gaussian one-point probability density
of velocities\, \ncontinuously dependent on visco
sity\, reflecting a spontaneous one step replica s
ymmetry breaking (RSB) in the associated statistic
al mechanics problem. \nWe obtain the low orders c
umulants analytically. Our results\, which are che
cked numerically\, \nare based on combining insigh
ts in the mechanism of the freezing transition \ni
n random logarithmic potentials with an extension
of duality relations discovered recently in Random
Matrix Theory. \nThe presentation will be based o
n the joint work with P. Le Doussal (ENS\, Paris)
and A. Rosso (Orsay).\n
