If you have a question about this talk, please contact Vincent Boyer. NOTE NEW TIME! In most interaction between atoms and light we concentrate mainly on the light’s intensity. By including also the phase of the light it is possible to make full use of the information contained in the transverse light field. The orbital angular momentum (OAM) of light offers a convenient – and intriguing – state basis for quantum images. I will report on the transfer of phase structure, and in particular of OAM , from near infrared pump light to blue light generated in a four-wave-mixing process in 85Rb vapor. Time and interest permitting I will also mention our work on the rotation of images through spinning windows and a prediction of vacuum Faraday rotation for electron vortices.
