If you have a question about this talk, please contact Prof Ian Kenyon. After a brief overview of flavour in the Standard model, and of the role flavour historically played in its construction, I give an account of flavour in various models of physics at the TeV scale. In the remainder of this talk, I mainly discuss observables at LHCb of interest for the new-physics search, their theoretical description and prospects with early data.
