**Note earlier start time**

In this talk I will give a brief overview of the holographic correspondence between gravity and quantum field theory in one less dimension, focussing on the holography dictionary between the two theories. In recent years holography has been used extensively to relate geometric quantities (in gravity) to quantum information quantities such as entanglement entropy and I will explain this relationship, and how it is linked to black hole physics. I will conclude with discussion of recent and ongoing work by my group on quantum information in holographic dualities.

This talk is part of the Theoretical Physics Seminars series.
