If you have a question about this talk, please contact David Craven. We will talk about the connection between thickness and intersections in Rd. Since the study of the presence of homothetic copies of a given finite set (pattern) is related to the study of intersections, we will see as a consequence a result that guarantees patterns in thick compact sets. This talk is partly based on a joint work with K. Falconer. This talk is part of the Topology and Dynamics seminar series.
