If you have a question about this talk, please contact Yuzhao Wang. In the late 80s and early 90s, Bourgain established pointwise ergodic theorems for averages along polynomial orbits. The work was a creative novelty; in this talk, I will explain how Bourgain arrived at his ergodic theorem. Time permitting, I will discuss extensions to my own work, joint with Mirek and Tao. This talk is part of the Analysis seminar series. This talk is included in these lists:Note that ex-directory lists are not shown. |
