Tame Blocks of Finite GroupsAdd to your list(s) Download to your calendar using vCal
If you have a question about this talk, please contact Rachel Pengelly. The respresentation type of an algebra is finite, tame, or wild, which could be considered easy, medium, and hard. Several families of tame algebras were classified by Karin Erdmann, and we consider which in the list occur as blocks of finite groups, which is precisely when the defect groups are dihedral, semidihedral, or quaternion. We will give a brief introduction into modular representation theory, and show how we can refine the list using the Classification of Finite Simple Groups.
