If you have a question about this talk, please contact Dr Dimitri M Gangardt. The AdS/CFT correspondence provides a tantalising link between strongly-coupled systems and classical theories of gravity. In this talk I will discuss its potential to model condensed matter phenomena. As a concrete example, I will show how real-time correlators in systems at non-zero temperature and density may be extracted from straightforward computations in black hole backgrounds.
