In this talk I will discuss current approaches to Sentiment Analysis, the automatic extraction of subjective views and opinions from texts, using a variety of natural language processing methods. Apart from describing current methods I will discuss why they tend to perform poorly, why it is hard to evaluate their performance in the first place, and how they can be improved This talk is part of the Theoretical Physics Seminars series.
