If you have a question about this talk, please contact Eoin Long. Erdős asked whether every set of natural numbers with positive density contains the (arithmetic) sum B+C of two infinite sets B and C of natural numbers. In joint work with Florian Richter and Donald Robertson we answered this question affirmatively, borrowing some ideas from ergodic theory. I will talk about this and related questions, several of which are still open, and then explain the main ideas that go into the proof. This talk is part of the Combinatorics and Probability seminar series. This talk is included in these lists:Note that ex-directory lists are not shown. |
