Pushing up and the C(G,T)-Theorems

Pushing Up and the C(G,T)-Theorems played a pivotal role in the original classification of finite simple groups, specifically in groups of characteristic 2-type. In this talk, I will provide an introduction to these concepts, explain why they were of such importance, and describe some generalizations and their roles in modern group theory.
