If you have a question about this talk, please contact Fabian Spill. Abstract: Spatiotemporal pattern is a frequently emergent phenomenon in nature. In this talk we present an extended study that establishes quantitative influence of domain-size on the dynamical behaviour of a Turing system. We explore the dynamical behaviour of Turing systems on convex and non-convex two-dimensional geometries. We present analytical and numerical demonstration of the necessary conditions required to admit/forbid certain types of bifurcations in the dynamics. In principle the results serve the purpose to substantially reduce the computational cost of numerical experiments on the theory of pattern formation through models of reaction-diffusion equations.
