If you have a question about this talk, please contact Prof Andy Schofield. The 2010 Poynting Lecture This talk reviews reviews recent experimental progress on using the electron spin as a holder of coherent quantum information, and the challenges of performing elementary operations on individual spins. Materials systems to be compared are GaAs and carbon nanotubes. The role of nuclear spin as the dominant source of loss of coherence will be emphasized. Charlie Marcus is Professor of Physics at Harvard and one of the world leading experimental physicists working on quantum condensed matter physics. This talk is part of the The Poynting Lecture series. This talk is included in these lists:Note that ex-directory lists are not shown. |
