If you have a question about this talk, please contact Mike Gunn. This is going to be a very informal dialogue between the speaker and the audience. In particular the audience will be asked to pick and choose among several facets of the same problem. These are: 1. traditional confluence of poles in ODEs (such as Gauss hypergeometric equation to Kummer confluent hypergeometric equation), 2. the effect of merging of points in the divisor of a Riemann surface on the moduli space of flat connections, 3. Teichmuller theory of Riemann surfaces with boundaries and collision of boundaries. The final aim of this research programme is to quantise algebras of functions of the holonomies of connections on a Riemann surface with boundary – this will be discussed very intuitively. This talk is part of the Theoretical Physics Seminars series. This talk is included in these lists:Note that ex-directory lists are not shown. |
