The European Committee for Future Accelerators (ECFA) Detector Panel is responsible for helping shape the aspects of the European Strategy for Particle Physics relating to the detector needs of future experiments.  The presentation will include materials and examples being prepared to inform that process, given that the next update of the European Strategy is expected in early 2020. It is therefore hoped that this can provide a helpful overview of the many different experiments in preparation, the very different techniques that they require and some of the key R&D topics currently being pursued internationally.

This talk is part of the Particle Physics Seminars series.
