EEG is a powerful tool that can provide high temporally resolved images of activity at the surface of the brain. In the Vegetative State where patients are awake but unaware of their surroundings and self, this tool has demonstrated its effectiveness at detecting where a patient is truly conscious or not. In this talk I will demonstrate how EEG signals can be converted into useful information and how it can be complemented with other techniques that provide enhanced spatial resolution.
