I provide a partial answer to a question raised in a previous talk, “Is mathematics parametric?”, by arguing that at least category theory is. To demonstrate this, I define a notion of “parametric categories”, building in parametricity at the foundational level and note that all definitions and constructions are indeed parametric. Ostensibly some categories are not parametric, but this occurs at the level of application of the theory, but not within the theory.
