If you have a question about this talk, please contact Prof Ian Kenyon. Muon tomography is a novel imaging technology that allows imaging of the insides of closed objects from a safe distance without introducing radiation. This makes it an excellent technique to probe the internal structure of volcanoes, to detect nuclear bombs smuggled in cargo containers and monitor legacy nuclear waste. In this presentation I will discuss the detectors and analysis techniques and present results on the aforementioned topics. This talk is part of the Particle Physics Seminars series.
