Informal discussion and coffee after the talk.

When asked, ‘What do you do?’, the response, ‘I work on radioactive waste disposal’ is almost guaranteed to bring any conversation around to people asking if I ‘glow in the dark’ or ‘have two heads’.

Yet radioactive waste exists and meeting the challenge of managing it safely provides the opportunity to make a real positive contribution to society.

In my talk I will share my career journey from computer programmer to Chief Scientific Advisor. Also I will describe some of the career opportunities in radioactive waste management for those who may want to help address this important challenge.
