The emergence of IoT and the supporting use of cloud computing gives rise to new challenges in cyber security for systems designers. Recognising that there are multiple stakeholders in the IoT/cloud space, one challenge is to navigate and resolve the trade-offs in the security requirements for each of them. Another challenge is to design systems that satisfy those requirements in a way that can readily be seen by users to do so. We will develop these challenges in the talk, and outline some approaches to meeting them. These are quite preliminary thoughts. The talk will be speculative and interaction/discussion is encouraged.
