Note the early start With the full LHC Run 1 dataset the ATLAS experiment was able to see evidence for the Higgs decay to two tau leptons, the first evidence for fermionic decays of the Higgs boson. Very recent results combining ATLAS and CMS data show the tautau signal at more than 5 sigma confidence level. This talk will review the H to tautau discovery analysis. Additionally we will look at the properties of the H to tautau channel that make it a unique tool for measuring the Higgs CP quantum state, and for searching for extensions to the Standard Model. Prospects for analyses in this channel during Run 2 and future LHC running will be explored. This talk is part of the Particle Physics Seminars series. This talk is included in these lists:
