Unikernels [1] are library operating systems, which offer a new approach to cloud computing. In this talk, I’ll discuss the research we’ve done in developing MirageOS [2], a unikernel, implemented in OCaml, and outline some of the consequences for possible improvement in security for cloud computing. I’ll touch on several components, such as the Irmin [3] storage substrate, and signposts [4], a personal cloud connectivity and coordination toolchain.
