If you have a question about this talk, please contact José Cañizo. Two-weighted inequalities where the weights are related by a suitable maximal operator M have been of considerable interest in recent years. Given an operator T, such inequalities allow one to recover Lebesgue space bounds for T from those for M. In particular, we are concerned with obtaining an optimal M that gives one the full range of Lp-Lq bounds for T. In this talk we present such an optimal weighted inequality for the maximal Carleson operator, an operator closely related to the convergence of Fourier series. Our methods build on a recent work of Di Plinio and Lerner combined with some results on Orlicz spaces due to Pérez. This talk is part of the Analysis seminar series.
