Thursday talk The new challenges of the HL-LHC have prompted new developments in silicon detectors, which in turn have led to some improved capabilities for beam diagnostics and imaging for the future proton therapy facilities planned for the UK. The talk will mainly focus on the new technologies being developed for coping with the HL-LHC environment but some applications of this work in the area of proton therapy will also be discussed.
