If you have a question about this talk, please contact Matthijs Melissen. At the end of my security module, I usually let my students vote for a lecture on the (security) topic of their choice. This year they asked for an overview of some of the GCHQ /NSA projects in the Snowdon papers. In particular, I briefly talked about the projects: Tempora, MUSCULAR , PRISM, Optic Nerve, BULLRUN and their attacks against Tor. Given our recent discussions I thought some of you might be interested in this material. N.B. there is no research here, you may know all of this stuff already and if you don’t you could easily find it out for yourself, however I hope that this material will lead to some interesting discussions.
