If you have a question about this talk, please contact José Cañizo. The second part of this working group will take place on June 18 The restriction conjecture is one of the main problems in Harmonic Analysis and it has been an active area of research over the last 20 years. Roughly speaking, this problem asks wheter the Fourier transform of an $Lp(\mathbb{R}d)$ function can be restricted to a hypersurface $S$. Success on the original conjecture has been achieved by introducing its multilinear analogues and by using techniques as induction on scales, the wavepacket decomposition and Kakeya-type (combinatorial) estimates. During these sessions we will survey the results known about the restriction conjecture and, in particular, we will discuss Tao’s paper A sharp bilinear restriction for the paraboloids.
