Linearity and Dependent Types

In this talk, I’ll describe some in-progress work on integrating linear types with dependent types.

This has historically been a challenging problem, but by exploiting the LNL formulation of linear types by Benton (consisting of a CCC and SMCC with a monoidal adjunction between them), we have developed a very simple account of how to integrate dependent types with linearity.

Time permitting, I’ll also show how this permits decomposing Hoare Type Theory into simpler components.
